Too Many People

Krugman: Betraying the Planet,

Temperature increases on the scale predicted by the M.I.T. researchers and others would create huge disruptions in our lives and our economy.
. . . In other words, we’re facing a clear and present danger to our way of life, perhaps even to civilization itself. How can anyone justify failing to act?

It doesn’t affect people who are not here. If we see famine, mass migration and other mass-scale disruptions coming there is something we can do roght now to ease the suffering and that is conceive fewer people!
1) Conceiving fewer people means fewer people will be here to need food, hospitable climate, etc. If they aren’t here they can’t starve.
2) Conceiving fewer people means the use of carbon-releasing energy will be lower. So lower carbon emmissions, lessening the problem.
3) Conceiving fewer people means the people who are here have more resources available to them.
4) Duh!

  1. Are you sitting down. Brace yourself. I am against cap and trade because the globe is not getting warmer.
    1. British meteorology and all satellite systems show atmospheric temps lower than 1998.
    2. NOAA Argosy project indicates the ocean has cooled since 2003 or at least not warned.
    3. Antarctic sea ice is well above average
    4. A leading polar bear expert is BARRED, CENSORED from speaking at UN convocation because he contradicts the politicized consensus science. More bears than ever.
When the $20,000 plug in hybrid arrives I am all for it. Unfortunately it looks like it will come from China’s BYD first.
No matter. Cap and trade has no nuclear in it, the grid will choke for about 10 more years. It is shameful that cap and trade was not read. But then, a CA pol is driving the train and that explains this loss of opportunity.

  2. Mace,
Exxon and a few others are spreading millions of dollars around to pay people to write that global warming doesn’t exist. Pretty much every website, op-ed column, politician, etc. that you see writing that global warming doesn’t exist – when you trace it back you find out they are paid by Exxon. Many commenters at websites as well. And it is big dollars.
So with that in mind, here you are writing that climate change doesn’t exist, is a hoax, etc.
So I have to ask you – are you being paid to write this?
Or, with everyone around you who writes this kind of thing getting paid a LOT, are you doing it for free?
And if you are doing it for free, when everyone around you is getting paid, what does that make you?
