Dropping the Code-Word “Liberals” and Accusing Jews Directly

There has been a lot of talk in the blogosphere about “mainstreaming extremism” lately. That is Republicans injecting hard KKK stuff, disguised to sound more moderate, into mainstream outlets. The Republican charge that there is a “war on Christmas” is a prime example of this. Now we find out who they have been implying is behind this war – because they’re dropping the code words and saying it out loud. Townhall.com :: Columns :: The Jewish Grinch who stole Christmas by Burt Prelutsky,

I never thought I’d live to see the day that Christmas would become a dirty word. You think it hasn’t? Then why is it that people are being prevented from saying it in polite society for fear that it will offend?
… How is it, one well might ask, that in a Christian nation this is happening?

… Although it seems a long time ago, it really wasn’t, that people who came here from other places made every attempt to fit in.
… When it comes to pushing the multicultural, anti-Christian, agenda, you find Jewish judges, Jewish journalists, and the ACLU, at the forefront.
… But the dirty little secret in America is that anti-Semitism is no longer a problem in society; it’s been replaced by a rampant anti-Christianity. For example, the hatred spewed towards George W. Bush has far less to do with his policies than it does with his religion. The Jews voice no concern when a Bill Clinton or a John Kerry makes a big production out of showing up at black Baptist churches or posing with Rev. Jesse Jackson because they understand that’s just politics. They only object to politicians attending church for religious reasons.
… It is the ACLU, which is overwhelmingly Jewish in terms of membership and funding, that is leading the attack against Christianity in America. It is they who have conned far too many people into believing that the phrase “separation of church and state” actually exists somewhere in the Constitution.
… I happen to despise bullies and bigots. I hate them when they represent the majority, but no less when, like Jews in America, they represent an infinitesimal minority.
I am getting the idea that too many Jews won’t be happy until they pull off their own version of the Spanish Inquisition, forcing Christians to either deny their faith and convert to agnosticism or suffer the consequences.

Heritage’s TownHall is central to the whole Right Wing Noise Machine. Heritage Foundation is the hub of the “conservative movement” that now controls the Republican Party. The Christian Right has learned to use code words to disguise the anti-semitism at the core of their movement, but here they just come out and say it.
You think I’ve been kidding when I say that “liberal media” comes straight out of the old far-right “Jew media” and “Jew York Times” stuff? “Liberal” and “Jew” used to be interchangable words for the Right. They have always been able to talk about the ACLU to get votes in the South, but here you see what they have meant.
So do you think President Bush or any Republican leader will condemn this now? Are you kidding? He is more likely to give a speech at the Heritage Foundation than condemn them. He is more likely to send his Vice President to appear on a stage with the author of this piece. That’s how they do it.

  1. Q.E.D. TownHall.com makes it official.

Well, as has been becoming increasingly clear, the “War on Christmas” Bill O’Reilly has been ranting on about is just a recycled bit of anti-semitic conspiracy theory from the extreme racist right. Think that’s hype? Well, perhaps not so much after all…

  2. as presented on this blog, mr prelutsky sounds like a real jew-hater; for his complete comments, pls link to his townhall comments; mr prelutsky is a jew, not self-hating, and certainly not an anti-semite; bad form not to include the parts about his jewishness; thanks for the link, though; merry chrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr; oh, i just can’t say it; bob terrill, ft collins, colo

You can say anything you want, bob. No law against dragging your religion into every conversation you have. This is the USA, not the Christian Republic of Falwell. Not yet, at least. Heil, Jesus!

  4. Bating From Left and Right

Political conflict is rife in this country. Too many people are resorting to name calling, finger pointing, even down right prejudice. I’m probably no better than the next blogger when I get angry about something. After all, what got me into blogging w…

  5. “mr prelutsky is a jew, not self-hating, and certainly not an anti-semite…”
Nice statement, but his own words just don’t bear this out.

  6. The snide, smug answer to this is probably gonna be pointing out that the Bush administration supports Israel, so how can it be accused of anti-Semitism. It supports Israel because unless the Jews are in Israel the Rapture ain’t gonna happen. That’s quite different from not being anti-Semetic. Frankly, I’m glad their anti-Semitism is finally out in the open where nobody can miss it.
Frankly, the Republican party has been anti-Semetic for a very long time, often without any code words used to disguise it. Much of the anti-Semitism in this country expressed itself by referring to Roosevelt as “Rosenfelt” because that sounded Jewish to them. Nixon was notoriously anti-Semetic and open about it in private. This is nothing new. It just went underground for awhile.

  7. Yikes! Kikes! (or, more about the Right targetting Jews)

Yesterday I wrote about the Right starting to drop the not-so-subtle undertones, coming right out (right out, get it?) and saying that their “war on Christmas” campaign really IS about Jews. The other day Nitpicker caught a good one,If you…

  8. WTF?!?! (Holiday Edition)

I found this article over at Seeing the Forest. He did NOT write it. It was originally posted on Townhall.com. STF was pointing out the absurdity of this line of thought. Is this was passes for geniune conversative thought today? Blame the Jews? OMG…

  9. I think that’s a rather old column to be trotting out to begin with as I’ve read it before at that website. It should be mentioned that the fellow who wrote it was Jewish, thus it seems to me rather difficult to pin an anti-semite label on him.
In addition I find it vaguely amusing that the left can’t decide whether they hate the Republicans because Bush is Ariel Sharon and neoncon jew’s puppet in the Middle East, or because he’s an anti-semite. I think those of you on the left really need to get together and decide which of the two swear jobs your going to trot forth jewish puppets or haters? They don’t seem to go hand in hand in any sort of logical fashion.
That being said I don’t think the right is hateful of Jewish people, I think on the right there is a great deal of respect for people of any faith there. I’d argue that the religious right certainly seems more supportive of orthodox jews, than the left does.
If you want to say that religious people don’t like hard line secularists seeking to prevent them from peacefully practicing their religion, that might be a more accurate way to look at the matter. It seems to me your taking part of a writing out of context and attempting to sensationalize it.

  10. I’m not so much worried about the peaceful christians in this country as I am about the ones who are okay with torture and don’t seem to want to debate whether or not what our armed forces are doing the is a good idea. I have also known plenty of christians who are suspicious of jews, and dislike them. Frankly, I don’t like them using the name of christ to describe their faith, and I feel they have perverted the message of jesus.

  13. Go through the text of Mein Kampf, subtitute the word “Liberal” for the word “Jew” and you’ll soon feel an icy cold chill creeping up your back. It reads like a script on Fox News.
