Something Up?

Our buddy over at Confederate Yankee has been doing some investigating and has come up with something interesting, and is hinting at more to come. I think it’s worth taking a look.

  1. I find it fascinating that the shipyard in question was so obsessed with keeping the DOT and other federal authorities concerned with maritime safety out of their website. I don’t think that’s even enforceable as a matter of contract law concerning click-wraps.
CY seems to think that there’s nothing whatsoever suspicious about that.

  2. Wow! Connecticut Yankee must be becoming one disillusioned guy! Why indeed would any government agency be hacking into that kind of website? They can’t argue “terrorist” or “homeland security” about this one. And it’s hardly as though anything top secret was being hidden, only plans to recover scrapped ships and make them useful again for humanitarian purposes. And in any case, why should the government be arrogant enough to be illegally hacking into anywhere? If there’s information they must have, they could ask, for God’s sake, for permission to read it.
