Do Not Get This Flu

I have the flu – since Monday. I got a flu shot a month ago, but they say there is a strain out there that the shot doesn’t protect against.

I called the doctor, and it is too late to get Tamiflu so I just have to ride it out.

This is not a cold, it is much, much worse.

Take it seriously, get a flu shot and start washing your hands all the time.

  1. Do not get pneumonia either. I got the flu shot and the pneumonia vaccine, and I still got pnuemonia for the second time in 18 months. I was in the hospital two weeks last time, but only (only!) ten days this time. Am only slowly, very slowly, getting back up to speed.

  2. Sorry about the nano-scale attack, Dave, and hope you get better quickly.

Since flu commandeers the energy-making mitochondria in each cell, your immune system must do something equivalent to a house-to-house anti-insurgency operation. (May the Good Guys win.)

The latest (free) Life Extension Magazine has an excellent group of articles on the immune system and how it might be “tuned” to peak efficiency at this link– http://www[dot]lef[dot]org/Magazine/2015/1

According to the CDC, the vaccine master set for this season included a virus which has mutated since the vaccine went into production. The mutant is still cousin to the original, but just different enough to call into doubt the vaccine’s usual efficacy in flu prevention.

In fact, CBSNews.com reports the vaccine which has been distributed now offers “about” 40 percent protection– better than none, but not what was hoped. Current field samples of the H3N2 flu at issue now match the CDC vaccine in less than 50 percent of cases. http://www[dot]cbsnews[dot]com/news/flu-shot-may-not-be-enough-protection-this-season/

    • The blog’s response forum software could not handle my use of brackets, so it obliterated my attempts to insert a “bracket-dot-bracket” character combination, so I would not insert a live web link into the forum.

So, here is the entire message / post again, this time without the funny codes.
